While growing up, my aunt would always sew my Halloween costumes and when I was seven she taught me how to sew. When I was given the opportunity to design a personal project I knew I wanted to step away from the computer and design something by hand.

For two years I attended the San Francisco School of Circus Arts where I took trapeze classes. During the time I spent there I fell in love with the circus. Kesali is a brand inspired by the nomadic soul. The word ‘kesali’ is derived from a Romani word meaning ‘wandering spirit’. Each doll is designed from a master pattern, but is tailored to fit their specific act.
